Sarah Palin has a gift. Her ability to take her message to the people. This is not something that we see very often in a public figure. Reagan had it. Kennedy seemed to have it. It is an ability to elevate a conversation to a different level through plain spoken conviction and clarity about one's beliefs. That is why it is so important not to get to drawn up in the minutiae that dominates the media's attempt to marginalize Sarah Palin. It wont work or, should I say, it shouldn't. It can only work if the republican faithful and the McCain campaign allow themselves to get drawn into it. Controversies like the one's that the press is and will be trying to foster against Palin are background noise that is easily tuned out unless you bring it to the forefront. The fact is that the general electorate knows who the press is and how they operate. They also know that they like Sarah Palin. They like her style, her background, and her plain spoken way. Why? Because its devoid of the usual political double talk or hollow sentiment that they are so familiar with hearing from the political establishment.
Sarah should give interviews now and then but she should be right out front where she can take her case to the masses. Those are the people that define this election and they will define the way Sarah is viewed. No matter how hard the press will try, the people will not let them have their way. The dye is being cast and their is little that the press can do about it as long as republicans don't go on the defensive or get caught up in the minutiae.
